iPhone

How do I add a link to my home screen?

Touch and hold an empty area of your home screen until the apps jiggle, tap Edit and then Add Widget, and search for WebLinks. Choose Link Tile for one link or Links Grid for several, then tap Add Widget. To choose which link a tile opens, touch and hold it and tap Edit Widget.

Why does WebLinks open briefly before the website?

On iPhone, tapping a widget always opens the app it belongs to first. WebLinks then hands the address straight to Safari, so you'll see it for a moment. Apple doesn't let apps place regular icons on the home screen, which is why WebLinks uses widgets.

My widget shows the wrong link or "Add a link"

Open WebLinks once so it can refresh your widgets. If a tile's link was deleted, it shows your first saved link instead; touch and hold the tile and tap Edit Widget to pick another.

Can I put a link on the Lock Screen?

Yes. Customize your Lock Screen, tap the widget area, and add the WebLinks Link Tile.

Android

How do I add a link to my home screen?

In WebLinks, tap Add to Home Screen next to a link and choose Add app icon or Add as widget, then confirm in the prompt. You can also long-press your home screen, tap Widgets and find WebLinks.

Nothing happens when I tap "Add app icon"

Some launchers don't support adding shortcuts from apps. Try Add as widget instead, or add the widget from your launcher's widget list.

I deleted a link but its icon is still on my home screen

Android doesn't let apps remove home-screen icons, so WebLinks disables it instead. Long-press the icon and remove it.

Do my links sync between devices?

Not yet. Links are stored only on the device where you saved them.

Does WebLinks see the websites I visit?

No. The app only asks your phone to open the address you saved. See the privacy policy.
